Does it have a mouse stick in the keyboard? Sometimes the sticks cause the pointer to jump around. I had to upgrade the pointer software on my Dell Latitude laptop to stop the pointer from drifting.

It could be a software or hardware problem.

It appears that the pad to the left of the keypad is thin and resting your hand there gives the pc a click. A wireless mouse fixes this. Thanks for the advice. Dale

There is a software solution to this problem. Find your pointer options and open them. They may have a SysTray icon, or be hidden inside Control Panel > Mouse.

One of the options typically found for notebooks with touchpads is a sensitivity setting for taps and clicks. If your PC has one, reduce the click/tap sensitivity a bit.
