I received a call from Leodie's son Steve Jackson the other day and the subject of his Dad's Bigsby came up. At some point in the 50's Leodie sold his Bigsby to a Los Angeles steel player named Carl Moser. After Leodie passed on, Steve tried to buy it back from Carl but Carl wanted to keep it even though he was no longer activly playing. Carl had painted over Leodies name on the front of the Guitar and attached his own over it. Carl eventually passed on and the Guitar was stored somewhere but Steve could not find out what happened to it. Is this still one of the "lost Bigsbys" ?

Did you know a Los Angeles Bigsby steel player named Wally Olfert? He played with Eschol Cosby and the Christian Cowboys. He got his Triple 8 Bigsby with two pedals and plungers on October 15, 1951. He lived on Hope Street near downtown, and was a National dealer. You two are about the same age.

Chris: Somehow I missed Wally. If he lived on Hope St. in downtown L.A. it was still a safe district. Not anymore !
