I just sent out an update to everyone. The info I had on Lynn Owsley was not correct.
Also, Johnny Bondz is in Leesburg hospital and according to Catfish Johnny, Bondz will need gall bladder surgery.
I worked a job with Johnny Bondz the last Monday in September and he was fine then.

Update on Bondz. Catfish Johnny called Bondz this morning and it's not as band as first thought. He will have Gall Bladder surgery in the next day or two. Barring any complications he shouldn't be in the hospital very long. |

A gentle nudge for my friends at the Florida Steel Guitar Club. Barring a cats-asstrophy, I'll be in your midst on Wednesday.

I'm missing you guys by a week. I am in Port St Lucie visiting the In Laws till Monday and then flying back to KC,Missouri.
I would have loved to get to hear you guys pick some Steel Guitar down here in Florida. Got to hear Jack Stoner again last time he was in town. Always a pleasure.
My bad timing as usual.
Hey, check out our new club in Kansas City.
Heartland Steel Guitar Association.

Bobby, if you can delay it until Thursday it would be great. The club jam is this coming Wednesday.
It would be great to have Bobby pick at the club. I got to pick at a KC jam last year with Bobby and he really impressed me with his picking and tone.
Bobby reminded me of a long time ago, he told me last year that he remembers his dad and him coming to hear me pick in the mid 70's in Kansas City, Kansas. |

You don't know how much Id like to stay but they wouldn't understand on my day job. They just don't
have any sense of humor. Anyway if you all ever make it up to Kansas City, look me up,I know where all the steel pickers hide out and great places to eat.

Update from Sue Bondz on Johnny:
Quote: |
I brought Johnny home on Saturday.
He had been sick since the 25 th of October.
They put him in the hospital Monday, Nov. 1. and started heavy duty meds.
His Gallbladder, liver and stomach were very infected.
They took his gallbladder out on Wednesday,
and cleaned him out as best they could.
He started to really improve on Friday.
The surgeon said it's a good thing he got there when he did.
He wont be at the store for a week or 2, but it will be open.
thanks for letting everyone know.

Good to hear JB is doing better. Also looks like the old guard is once again in the southland. The winter meetings are always a great pick me up after the dogs days of summer. I would like to see you all before it's over. Still doing the wednesday gig at the legion in Kissimmee. So once again....play well.. as you all do.

Yes, indeed, Fred, I think a good time was had by all. Everybody was on their game and a lot of good music was played and we had a good crowd - couldn't ask for better!
And remember, "Farewell Party" modulates to 'E' on the last verse.

Fred, we always put out a "warm" welcome to the returning Winter Residents.
Beside, we needed some new blood for the kibitzing. Cal has been waiting all summer.
But seriously, it was nice having you back. |

Skip, how did you like the "great" lead guitar playing on there.
Most of it was done with the LP and one (I forget which one) was done with the Tele. |

It sure was nice having you back Fred aka "Mr. Smooth" .
I musta had one of those also Fred.
For as many times as I've played Sleepwalk I couldn't find the F to Fm bridge.
Must be these crazy meds I'm on.
I'll get it right next time. I think.

Jack - I thought the guitar playing was just fine throughout - in fact I commented to the guys as we were listening to it that I liked it. Very simple (in a good way) and to the point and not overplayed - just what was needed. The only criticism I would have would be that the tempo on a couple tunes could have been brought up a notch but that, like a lot of things, is subjective. Well Done!! _________________ 2022 Brook Lyn, 2014 Martin 000-18, 2022 Ibanez GB-10, two homebrew Teles, Evans RE200 amp, understanding wife of 49 years. 'Steeless' at the moment |
