Does anyone have a Alumitone pickup on their Rittenberry
or have tried one on it. If you did how did you like it.
I have a 705 on mine, and it sounds so sharp that it
hurts my ears even with the presence and highs turned off.
Sure would like some opinions. Gary's going to get me one.
Thanks in advance for any input.

I think the pup would sound good on just about any steel, they seem to be perty transparent.

TTT

I know at least 3 Rittenberry users are using them.
Are any of you fellows around, that can give me input.

Hi Charlie,
Hope you're doing well, we haven't talked for a while.
I answered this yesterday, but see it never made it.
Anyway, Gary sent me an Alumitone to try, on my 1st
Ritt, and what a big difference it made over the 705.
The tone is warmer, and very clean string separation.
I tried my Emmon's PU on the Black Ritt before Gary
finished my new Red one steel, and I didn't care for
the sound good at all. So I had him put an Alumitone
on it, and I'm glad I did. What a nice sounding steel.
Hope that helps a little my friend.
Carl

Thanks Carl.
I've been recording direct alot lately and the tone on the 705 just doesn't suit me that well. Its not terrible. EQ can take care of it but I remembered that you were changing to an Alumitone so I thought I might at least look into it.
Did you do the install yourself and was it difficult?
Thanks

Hi again Charlie,
I installed the 1st one. Gary made me the mounting plate.
He installed the one on my Red & White one when he made it.
They are very easy to install, but on most steels you have
to make or have a plate made to mount it on your steel.
