Gary Carter/ Marty Stuart show

Post by Keith Poteat »

A few weeks back there was a discussion about Gary Carter not being heard on Marty Stuart's show. Does anyone remember how that came out? We just bought a new TV and having the same problem. Makes me so mad I'm about ready to go over to Goodwill and buy my old RCA back. He always came through loud and clear on that one. Thanks for any help.

Keith,Wish I could help,This has come up several times,I get RFD on my local cable in this small town I live in,Everything on Marty's show is clear and balanced on my TV,[just a regular tv] The steel is out front loud and clear. As I said several in different parts of the country have complained like you they can't hear the steel. Have no idea what's wrong. :? YOU BETCHA,DYK?BC.

Charles, thanks for the reply. I think it's this new-fangled foreign TV that takes a college professor to turn it on!

I've been unable to hear him from day one. What I can't understand is why it's always the steel and never one of the other guys. Is he routed to some other place in the studio? I don't know what the answer is..........

I was experiencing a similar problem until I used the outs on the rear of the television to go to my stereo setup. Now when the Marty Stuart Show is on, I turn on the stereo, mute the TV speakers, and Gary's playing comes through clear as a bell.
(Speaking of RFD T.V. music programs, is it me, or are the recent "Midwest Country" shows sounding more like open mic night at the local honky tonk?)

I watch the show every week, and I'm able to hear Gary fine. I'm running my TV (42" Sanyo) thru a Samsung home theatre system.

I think you may be hearing half of a stereo broadcast. If you're receiving from a satellite signal, make sure that you are running something besides a coax "f" connection (the screw-on kind) between your receiver box and your tv. Use either the RCA connectors (video, L&R audio) or an HDMI cable (which runs HD video and any audio) to go from your receiver to your tv. If you're on basic analog cable... you're on your own. ;-) Also, go into your audio menu on your tv and run a little test by just switching the balance between left, right, and center settings, just to make sure everything is working properly.

I have a Hi-Def Panasonic with HDMI cables coming from a Dish Satellite and Gary comes through loud and clear.

I think Jason has the definitive answer.

I agree, David. IMO, Midwest Country has needed to upgrade it's talent roster for a long time.

Last week I happened to tune in the show and Gary was loud and clear, so I checked in again this week and same thing. Loud and clear. Never did a thing to my tv or receiver so that tells me the problem was not on my end. Anyway now I can watch the show which is great!

The comment about Midwest Country, I argee with. I used to really enjoy the show, but lately, it sounds like the first rounds of America's Got Talent.
Too bad, we need more country shows of RFD. Just my thoughts. Larry
