Brett, thanks for the info! You're amazing and we appreciate you on the SGF.

As for country music, wouldn't it be wonderful if it was categorized like rock & roll does? They have:
Heavy Metal
Punk
Country Rock
Alternative
New Wave
Techno
Classic
& who knows what else........

In country we could have:
Classic Country
New Country
Pop Country
Alternative Country
$hit-Kickin' Country
& maybe a bunch of others eh?.....

The big problem would probably be that there wouldn't be enough listeners in any one area to support a full time radio station featuring any of the formats. A lot of the young people are into the new country thing but at least it keeps them away from Rap!.............JH in Va.
Don't matter who's in Austin (or anywhere else) Ralph Mooney is still the king!!!

I'm pretty sure there are already several sub-genre categories of Country, and have been for years.

Really, do these names mean anything about the music? I thought they reflect the age, wardrobe, and hair styles of the performers.
