Anybody using one of these in a Session , or vegas 400 ?? I have both with 1501's that are gettin fuzzy...want to try something new. feedback??? Thanks, Jory

I highly do not recommend the Jensen Neo 15. Take a look at the FR chart. It goes off the chart at 2k - over 110 db! I tried one in my Twin and it was horribly harsh and spiky in the high end. I gave it three weeks worth of practices and weekend gigs to break in and then removed it. I hear the Neo 12's do not have this issue.

My experience is just the opposite. The 12" has a more pronounced top end. I like the 15" better.
As with anything, you have to listen for yourself. Some players like "crisp" highs, some prefer a more mellow tone
like you would get with an Eminence Kappalite Neo (for example). |

| I like them allot.I replaced the D130 in my 50 watt"Vibroclone" and can't really tell much difference except now I can lift the amp.I have one in my blackface deluxe- same deal and used 2 12's in a fender twin successfully as well.The weight difference is a huge plus.However,I'm not sure the 100 watt power rating is enough for a session 400?That would be my only concern. |

My concern also....but the 4ohm 15" neo I am looking at is for guitar and Bass and is rated at 150W.....The Session 400 is 200W and so is My Vegas 400....which I can't lift as easy as the Session...its quit a bit heavier.

Are we talking apples vrs oranges here? Isn't there a difference between the Jensen 15" Neo and the SICA 15" neo, or are they the same speaker? My 15" SICA is not harse to my ears, at all.

THE SPKR I AM INTERESTED IN THE THE JENSEN NEO15-150 4OHM
IT IS PRICED AT $148 (AMAZON.COM) WHICH IS BASICALLY THE SAME PRICE AS A BW 1501-4 ($149).I am not sure if this is the same mod as the one Tim refers to......

The FR chart I posted is for the Jensen Neo 15 - 150 watt version. There is also a 300 watt version which I believe is listed as a bass speaker, which may be less spikey in the high end. I'll bet the 300 watt version is the same as the SICA neo 15 that Ken Fox uses in his amps. [Edit]: Here is the FR chart - looks much more balanced:

So....it says on the website the 150W ohm is for guitar and Bass...would I need the 300W spkr for a Vegas or session 400? These amps are 200W....but played in bars at low stage volume of course (we mic everything)....

I'm using the 150W with a 500 watt power amp module  !
I haven't had a problem. The 300W Neo will have less top end...if that's your preference. They're also way more expensive.
Even though the Jensens & SICA's are made by the same company, they're made with different materials and specs. |

I put a Sica neo (200-watt, 4ohms) in my Session 400 recently, and it is incredible. And I do not say that lightly. I've Abhorred all the neo's I've tried, but the Sica is excellent. Surprised the heck out of me when I installed it. Rich is the only description I have for it. And the amp is light as a feather to boot. Crazy. I'm sold.

I had the same experiece as Chris when I put a SICA into my PV Session 400 LTD. (small cab). Thank you Mr. Fox.

I prefer the SICA 15" to the Jensen 15". Tested all of them before we started using the SICA 250 watt in our new amp. By the way the SICA is listed as a bass speaker. To me what counts in the sound and it has got it!
I am an OEM for JEnsen and SICA and am super pleased. We use the Jensen 12" in our 212 amps and are really happy with them. THe SICA was the winner for a 4 ohm 15" speaker. The Jensen 15: at 300 watts does not come in 4 ohms. We tested the 4 ohm at 150 watts against the SICA 250 and 250 watt speakers for our new amps
By the way, the 1502-4 used int he earlier Peavey amps was a ribbed cone bass speaker! The SICA is a smooth paper cone and dust colver with a cloth surround, like the old JBL speakers used. |

| No. The mounting holes are 1/4" further apart than American standards. The Jensen Neo is set to American standard and is what we use in out 212 amps and for Twin Reverb amps as well |

| The Premiun Lite only come in 250 watt and 350 watt bersions. We use the 250 watt in our 115 amps. The 12" is great, but the holes are not the same distance as American standard. I can fit them, but I have to drill the frames a bit to get them to fit. We use the Jensen Neo 12's oin our steel amp and they are a great fit and a fine tone to boot. Same Neo magnet structure as the SICA (same company, so that makes sense). |

Guys I'm pretty sure I need a replacement speaker for my Session 400. Chris, I understand your liking of the Sica Neo 200-watt, 4 ohms. But, I'm a little confused by Ken's comment on the Sica 250 watt 15". Which would be the best replacement for the Session 400? Also, where would be the best place & price to purchase?
