Anyone ever see or hear anything out of Butch???
Haven't seen him in St. Louis for a few years. Just
wondering, always liked Butch's playing. Larry B.

I was wondering about Butch the other day as well. Seems like he just dropped off the map. Hope he's doing okay.

Although I did not know him well, he had quite a presence up here in the Pac.NW some years ago. I met him several times at some jams and enjoyed his jump-on-it approach to playing. It was either a Rus-Ler or ZB he played and he definately played!

I don't know where Butch is now, but when I came to Phoenix in 1975 he lived here. No hat, feathers or belt buckle. Back then Butch dressed the part of a misplaced hippie, and yes, he was playing a Rus~Ler at the time. Then one day he wasn't around any more, don't know where he went from here.
Last time I saw him he was hanging out with Bud a lot, Budweiser that is. he's out there somewhere and I'm sure will surface before long.

The last time I saw Butch was in St. Louis in either '06 or'08. He played a D-10 of some sort and had his U-12 Fulawka for sale in the Fulawka room during the convention. I wish I'd have bought it as it was one helluva guitar and the price was pretty reasonable. I don't know if anyone ever got it or not, I'd like to know.........JH in Va.

San Antonio, TX. I talk to him a few times a year. We were going to meet in San Antonio and take a train to St Louis to the ISGC. Didn't work out because Butch needed to share a room with someone. I already was doing that so I couldn't. Anyways the answer is yes, he's around and still playing some.

If you have his address please email it to me. I owe him $12.00. He was one of the first ZB owners.
