Brad Paisley's video for the song Water shows the band playing the song submerged in a big swimming pool. Noticeably absent is the steel guitar. The only time one is shown (a Franklin D10 sans legs), it's at the edge but not in the pool at 1:04.

Couldn't they have borrowed Rick Campbell's Emmons for the video? It fooled us.

I know Brad and his band lost most of their gear in the Nashville flood, so H2O sure is an appropriate title for the tour. I hope to catch their show.

I miss out on everything. Why didn't someone tell me. I would have rented it to them for a nominal fee. Whoa!

That's my luck. Brad Paisley does a video with the band underwater, and no steel, and makes $$$$$$ mega bucks......... I soak, soap, and rinse a steel and all I get is a few laughs. And you say steel guitar is not dead. Laughing Good enough...........that's all I wanted anyway. If I made you laugh I was successful. I write songs that make people cry. I consider that a success too. Neither one ever made me any money. Smile

Well Rick, you could have been a millionaire if you had hired a model to wash your steel with soapy water. Like the car washing scene in Cool Hand Luke!

I believe Randle's Franklin in the pool scene is the same steel used in the "I'm Gonna Miss Her" video and I think the reason behind how it's not in the water is because maybe Randle didn't want it to get wet.

Brett,

Thats what I thought too. Smile
A steel guitar (especially a Franklin) is just too darn valuable to get wet, even on a large budget production video for a superstar! Still, they could have called Rick for his Stunt Double Emmons. I thought it would have really looked cool to see him "playing" steel underwater in that video somewhere. Oh, and a belated Happy Birthday! Smile
