I am happy to announce that Del Mullen will be hosting a question and answer session in the Steel Guitar Chat Room next Tuesday evening Nov. 15 at 8:00 pm eastern time. You will be able to ask questions about his technique and tips as well as changes you may have been wanting to make on your guitar. He will also have his guitar on hand so that you can hear him play live and if you like...ask him to explain the licks he uses. We have been making these sessions available to all steel guitar players regularly and this one will prove to be a great time for all. If you have never been to the Steel Guitar Room I urge you to get in there and have great fun with all. You can chat live voice to voice or type text. You can actually "talk" to the very guys and gals you see posting right here on the Steel Guitar Forum to include...b0b Lee. You will be able to talk with fellow steel players all over the world....live...If you have a problem getting into the room feel free to e-mail Don Poland at donpoland@steelin4fun.com or myself at rwalker5@nc.rr.com.
Also if you are working on things on your computer and would like to be able to "listen" to great classic country music with a load of steel guitar you can go to www.originalcountryradio.com which is a site designed by Larry Simpson...the same guy who designed the Steel Guitar Room for us. Also you can check out his other rooms by going to www.sweetsouthernsounds.com. Larry has done a great job with these sites and they are clean fun for everyone. We have had many of the stars of steel guitar in the room who have talked about all the things you can think of pertaining to steel guitar and we have many more coming. I recently spoke with Tom Brumley who says he will find some time to come in and do a session. When sessions are not going on just come in and meet and talk to everyone there. You won't find a friendlier bunch of folks and they all have one thing in common.....STEEL GUITAR. Folks you don't want to miss the session this Tuesday night with Del Mullen.....Hope to see you all there.

It is great fun to talk to so many of you folks that post here.. I like the fact that guys can hear for themselves that I am not as bad a raving lunatic as I seem to be in print!..
Great guys ,great info, lots of good discussion, and GREAT steel guitar music... From Jerry Byrd and Buddy Emmons to Jerry Garcia and Robert Randolph..
[I try to bug the guys that love traditional steel by playing hippie steel songs, but they are such sweet guys, no one has gotten angry at me yet]
.. I'll keep at em'.. lol...
join us for a little while sometime.. you'll enjoy the company, I promise...bob [This message was edited by Bob Carlucci on 09 November 2005 at 09:31 AM.] |

Silly Newby Question. Having just purchased a new Mullen SD-10, I'd love to tune in to this. Where does one go to participate? (Is it a part of the Forum here, or another site?). Thanks. |

It's a great place to shoot the bull with all the steelers in there. Everybody is FAMILY and acts like it. It's also a clean, family oriented site that you wouldn't mind your wife and kids dropping in on. In fact some of them DO !. All are welcome and plenty of help is available if you need it. "GRANDPAW", Bobby Boman, "Daddy" Ray Walker and "COUSIN" Don Poland or just about any of us can help if you have problems when you get in so if you don't check it out, you have no one to blame but yourself. SEE YA IN THERE ! .

I'm with you Don...
Del fielded all questions and there were a bunch and he even treated us all to several songs which he played live. His tone was great and you just couldn't have asked for a better performance from him. The crowd liked it so much it ended up going past the schedule and Del graciously stayed on till the last questions were answered. Thanks Del Mullen for giving your time to these folks and thanks to all the staff at Mullen for being there and supporting the efforts of the Steel Guitar Room as we bring all steel players from all over the world to a common ground to meet and share and fellowship in a clean respectful atmosphere.
Don't forget...tonight we will have Reece Anderson on tap for ....the second (Yes that's right....2 in one week) session. It is shapiing up to be a great event and you are all invited. Next week the great Smiley Roberts will be there. Ya think we aren't having fun over there????
Ray Walker
And all the folks at the Steel Guitar Chat Room.
PS and don't forget to visit these other sites for great country music with lots of steel guitar.

Sorry I missed last night. We had severe thunderstorms with tornados come through middle Tennessee last night. We sat around in the dark and went to bed early. I'm sure Del put on a good 'un. |

We thought Del did a WONDERFUL job last night. We really enjoyed it. Austin had a BLAST listening. He wanted to know if they did that everynight. His mom told him if he wanted to listen all the time he was going to have to learn to type for himself. Donna |

I listened , intermitently , due to a problem with the streaming audio deal. For a while it worked fine ,then, every other phrase. Probably my fault. However i did get to listen to Del pick and heard some of the ?? asked and answered. I even had the nerve to type and send a ? myself but never had a constant connection long enough to hear if it was answered. I do want to thank all of you that make this available to all the steel family, i'll be listening for more , even if it's a sentence now and then.
