I think the expression is "if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it!" so maybe we should just look at the photo :D

I'm wondering if it's for sale or if he is just showing off.

Never mind the Strat, I want to know what's in all those tweed cases behind it.

It's one sweetheart of a guitar. In my many years of buying old guitars, this one is one of my favorites. Back in June i got a random call from a man in Arkansas about a Strat he bought in 58. Of course i was intrigued, anyways i bought the guitar and both parties came away very happy. Its super clean, and one of the most complete one's i have seen. It has the original Strap, cord, polish cloth, trem arm, bridge cover, old Fender picks and even the original allen wrench. Plus all the stuff in the pic. Not needing to sell it, just wanted to show the world, that YES they are still out there!!!!!!

Amazing guitar, Larry. I think 1958 was the first year for the 3-tone sunburst finish. Yours is in pristine condition. Since your intention is to display it rather than sell it, maybe you should post this in the Music section, along with pictures of other guitars in your collection? That thread might have a longer shelf life than this one. :)

Does anyone have a source for the "bridge cover" that can bee seen on this Strat?
I would like to put something like that on mine.

absolutely terrible market right now for vintage instruments, however an example like this might be an exception.

Larry, A few years back I bought a Fender catalog like the one in your case. I paid $30 for it. When I got home I checked eBay to find out what they have been selling for. I was shocked to see one had just sold for $1,500 :)

And for the record, it is for sale. It would just take one heck of a offer to let it go.

This isn't a Strat but it is a 1955 Fender Precision Bass. It is complete with the original strap, neck tag and strings.
I filled in with it when I was playing with a polka band in my "youth". :D
And I don't plan on selling it very soon.
