Indiana & Kentuckey Players

How are all our Steel Guitar Players in Indiana and Kentuckey making out. We hope none of them were involved with that terible tornato Yesterday.I don't know what is going on with this crazy weather.I think it is from all the space ships they are sending out of orbit. That is why there is a ho;le in the O zone.How else did it get there?Thats my opinion. Hope everyone in those two areas are all OK. I went to the Kentuckey Steel Guitar show a couple of years back and had a great time.

Thanks for asking Sam. Most of the rough stuff was west and south of Louisville where I live so no problems here. I know we have several pickers in some of those areas and I'm hoping they came through it OK. Some pretty bad destruction in places, but we were lucky here.

Thanks Sam, and all to of you for your concern and prayers. We have a mess over here but we'll clean up and get on with life, eventually. Fortunately for me and my family, we are all safe and were spared damage. We live on the north side of town and the tornado passed through the southeast side, taking out part of a new trailer park. Devastating and with 17 deaths.

I work in a local Hospital (St. Mary's) and reported in Sunday for the mass-casualty. First real one I've experienced. Other than the deaths, there were relatively few serious injuries, considering the damage. Many, many people with cuts and abrasions from flying debris. The nearby town of Newburgh was hit pretty hard, as well as a couple of smaller hamlets in the area. We received casualties from these nearby areas.

While this disaster is no where as the same magnitude as the Hurricane's and Tsunami's, it's still life changing when it's in your own back yard.

The winds were real bad when I was loading my stuff on Saturday night. I went home and sat at the computer until after 4:00 AM and then read the next day that all 70 tornado alarms went off here at 4:00 and I never heard a thing! Some alarm systen we have!

Jerry I use to live in Lousville on 31w behind a junk yard back in 61 and 62 while stationed at Fort knox.I use to go to the Stock car Races at the fair Grounds.I use to race in our area back then.

Tony Glad you made it thru OK.Those tornados are bad.

Frank you were no where near that strom. That is why you did not hear the Alarms.

Hi Frank, I live in Madison and I heard the sirenes loud and clear it could be I live a little closer to them although I thought they had them strategically placed for good coverage evidentally not.

But now wait a minute I had just replaced my hearing aid batteries how are yours Frank??? LOL just kidding buddie.

I lived in Louisville for 15 years while playing with Pee Wee King on WAVE-TV and radio. I used to go to Henderson, KY and Evansville, IN about erery weekend. I got to be good friends with a number of musicians in that area: particularly Les Smithhart and his band. They were a great group of musicians. Clarence Hanks was their steel man I have often wondered if they were still around and still playing. Anyone know them and whether the tornados did them any harm?
