I have always loved Jerry Byrd's version of Sweet Someone from his recording, Byrd in Hawaii. For my recording I'm using my Ricky Frypan tuned to a modified C6th-(highest string) GECAGF (lowest). Chuck, I'm curious about your tuning 
I can see that it is basically a high C6 - but what's the advantage of using F instead of E as the lowest note? Can you elaborate on that? |

Accidentally had the volume cranked on my laptop and the first notes sent the cat running from the room. After that, great playing and beautiful tone, Chuck. Also enjoyed your versions of Harbor Lights, God Only Knows, Lost Highway...and finally just saved your page for future listening.

Very nice, but if I may offer my own opinion... it's a little heavy on the reverb-delay and volume swells...

Thanks for the nice responses, guys. Nils, I like using the high G with the F on the bottom. It is similar to the pedal steel's C6th tuning, with the F as the ninth string. However, I use the F tuned an octave higer. It creates some different tones, plus I can detune the F to an E when the mood hits.
