Too sweet Doug! Great job. Nice to hear one of these lap steels in action finally too! Great sound.

Hello Doug,

Thanks for sharing... that was amazing man! Nice Sierra Lap steel there, what a nice tone... were you playing through a silverface princeton reverb?

thanks,

smitty

Thanks guys! Yes, this is a Sierra. The tone is quite a bit different from my other lap steels. I'm used to vintage steels with single coil PU. This one has a George L's humbucker, very smooth, even, and powerful. The natural (acoustic) sound of the guitar is more "bassy" than bright. It sounds and feels more like a modern pedal steel than a lap steel, probably because I'm used to vintage lap steels. It's a beautiful instrument, heavy, high quality materials, very well made.

No, I'm playing through a Peavey Nashville 112 in the video. I use the Silverface Princeton Reverb for teaching guitar lessons.

Thanks again for the kind comments! Cool

Thanks Steve, that lick is part of a speedpicking pattern that moves up or down the neck on two strings. It works pretty well in a medium tempo swing tune like this. thanks again. Cool
