A friend of mine has some old tapes he recorded of the Mandrell tv show.On one show Barbara is playing her steel front and center and Cookie is in the background playing..I noticed it looks like she is playing the front or c6 neck while Cookie is playing the back E9..I was wondering - I know from meeting her years ago she is a small lady - is her steel set up with the E9 on the front??

David,
I think she has a standard setup, do a search and you will get a bunch of really good BM picking. She did a week in a local club, and I was there every night except the nights that I had to work. If the setup had been as you say, I would have noticed. Julian Thorpe was her steel player at the time, paid a lot of attention to what he was doing..FWIW..he was playing a PSG with a double row of pedals, don't remember the name of the guitar he was playing, Barbara was playing a red Sho-Bud.
