I had the pleasure of sitting and picking some last night with my friend R.J.Buras and the Legendary Bill Stafford. Along with a few other great musicians, we got to jam some at the Fish Camp, although it is still presently closed. R.J. really had a great tone coming out of that little Crate amp, and pulled some familiar licks out that caught my attention. He really sounded good. Mr.Bill Stafford was there, and man what a sound. Mr. Bill has the ability to play chord progressions that will make you stand up and take notice. He played an arrangement of Storms Never Last like I have never heard. Bill Stafford is the type of player that will make you stop what you are doing and listen, and wonder "man how does he do that". Mr. Bill is truly one of the nations top steel players in my book! No wonder they call him Mr. Smooth! I really enjoyed it, and to sit with great players like R.J. and Bill Stafford makes my day. Thanks guys for a great time. And to all the other backup guys there, I really enjoyed it.

Danny, You are correct on Bill Stafford Playing. What a Sound He gets, There is no mistaking that sound when you here it. I got to sit in with him and Jim Wilborn(deceased) up at Maxine Sanfords a few years ago. and he just blowed me away.
Although, I have never had the chance to play with R.J. Burras, But I have heard lot's of people talk about what a good player he is. Maybe I will get a chance one day.

Danny & Joe.....what great players both Bill and RJ are.....Danny, you're not bad yourself....you can hang right in there with the best of them for sure. I've always enjoyed hearing Joe play, too. Hoping to be with all the group in Dec. My surgery for gall bladder will be this Thursday (Oct. 20th). Hope to be going by the time DSSGA has its Dec.Jam......

We are sorry to have missed that live session and lesson from Mr. Smooth.. If he got any smoother, we could rename Silk to Mr. Smooth.

It has been our pleasure to have known Bill Stafford for a very long time.. and it's an honor to call him our friend.. He sure gave us some excellent advice on an great pedal steel... Thanks Mr. Bill..

I only wished that I lived a bit closer so that we could hear him and RJ play more often.
