Something For A Sunday...JB and Dolly

Post by David Soreff »

Not sure how many have seen this, but I just happened on it while looking for something else. Nice to see Hiram in it as well...Dolly kind of kills the solo, but hey, a little JB is better then none, right? Check it out:

Thanx David, I've hoped for years to see this.
Nice that she mentioned "the Hawaiian that invented the steel guitar would be proud of you right now". True words. And then she gives him the rare opportunity to finish the tune with a shared vocal. Two class acts.

Yeah well, I must tell you, that all the way thru the song, I thought Jerry Byrd showed he could be real Gentleman... then having a singer invite to a solo and then interrupting it not once but twice with sing-sing'a'ling attempts and little "flatteries"... and that her being a steeler too... ts, ts, ts... :?

JB once said: "I never burlesque my music!". She should have taken notice!

But still, it's a great video to see again (I had seen it along with a couple of other songs they did at that venue... maybe off a tape or on TV... YEARS ago... but not that long ago either.
