I'll be joining my former bandmates in The Mother Truckers for a show at the Continental Club in Austin, Tx on Thursday, October 6th. We play at 10 PM.

Looking forward to my first trip to Texas!

Dave you are so lucky. You will DIG Austin! I hope you get a chance to visit the Broken Spoke and Ginny's Little Long Horn and are able to hook up with some of Austin's steel greats, such as Ricky Davis, Herb Steiner & Marty Muse.

Let us know how your trip goes!

(When I visited Austin I nearly didn't come back!)

Thanks Greg. Unfortunatly I won't have much spare time to see shows. Hopefully TMT will invite me out for more shows, and I'll plan it a little better.

Thanks for the heads up Herman. As of now, I have Nov 12 off, and I still owe you a round! If something doesn't come up, I'll see you there.

Hey Dave, have a great time. Amee spent a year in Austin and has nothing but great things to say about the music scene there.

Herman, if I'm off 11/12, I'll try to make the Lost Weekend gig too, where is "Little Switzerland"?

Tonight!

Landed in Austin @ 10:30 PM Wednesday and made it to the Broken Spoke in time for the last set and last call. Got to meet and hear Neil Flanz on his D-10 Emmons. Neil has been doing shows with the Mother Truckers, along with Kim Deschamps.

Cool, Neil sent me a copy of his C6th chord dictionary (very good reference by the way) please tell him thanks and hi for me. Have a great time tonight Dave, I'll be at the Sacramento venue where I heard you play a few weeks ago, the Old Ironsides Saloon.

Well, Austin was a blast. We played well and made some new friends. Neil Flanz came to the show and we got to talk a bit. He told some Gram Parsons stories (by request!) A special thanks goes out to forumite (and all around nice guy) Jon Jaffe for helping me out in the gear department. We talked shop, too. Klines rule! Met Tommy Spurlock who plays a Fender 400 with Sneaky's tuning. He'll be steeling with the Mother Truckers tomorrow. Caught up with my friend Kevin Banford, the Lonesome LA Cowboy.
The only problem with the trip was that it was too short. I hope to make it back in the not so distant future.

It was a pleasure Dave. The band was hot and really turned The Continental Club upside down. Dave's picking was sweet and he made a U12 mingle and be....universal.
