Well it looks like my time as a working person is coming to an end! Friday, Sept. 30 will be my last day at work and I can't hardly wait! I played music full time from '63 through '85 then left Southern California and came to Virginia and went to a day job and playing weekends. I'm glad I got out of full time club work when I did at age 45 while I still had some good working years left to get into something with a retirement plan and good benefits. I'll be opening a part time guitar repair shop and maybe take on a couple of students later but that's all after my trip to California. My wife and I will be leaving for SoCal on the 7th of October and will probably make a stop in Branson, Mo. on the way. So I guess I'm starting my countdown now..........4 MORE DAYS!! JH in Va.

Congratulations on your retirement in just a few short days! Hope that you and your wife have a safe and enjoyable trip to California. The stop over in Branson will be a nice diversion. Wishing you the best with your guitar repair shop. I retired in July 2003, in Alexandria, VA., and moved back to Atlanta, TX., in June 2004. I still have relatives and friends that I went to high school with in this area, and so far retirement has been great.

May God Bless You,

Donny

Jerry, congratulations on making the retirement. I've been retired since Sept 96 and I can tell you it's great - except I don't know how I found time to do all that I'm doing, when I was working!

Bro. Jerry -

We'll let you retire, but just be sure you keep those "working tools" in good condition.

Congrats!

Congratulations Jerry. I hope you enjoy your retirement from the day job. If you are going to Branson, swing down to Eureka Springs and check our the Ozark Mountain Hoedown. Exceptional show.

If you do indeed make a stop in Branson, please get in touch with me. I'll be glad to show you the sights, such as they are! I will be gone to work in Canada Oct. 8 thru about Nov. 10, but these dates are approximate.
Happy retirement,

Thanks Terry, I'll do that! Well it's only 3 days now!.....I'm just sitting at my desk and doing nothing. I took last Friday off to practice being retired and I discovered that doing nothing actually take no effort, just don't put the remote control too far away....JH in Va.

Good luck Jerry with all your future endeavors. I'm sure it will be great. You're thoughts are basically like my plans for about 15 years (hopefully less) from now. Music teaching, some performing, some travel etc.

I hope you and your wife enjoy many many years of your new life. You deserve it!
