Hello Ray,

That is a beautiful pair of Zumsteels! Did they formerly belong to John? The blue guitar looks like a lacquer finish over flamed maple. Is Bruce building these again? Is the red one mica or lacquer? Thanks for the picture and any more information you may have. Larry J. Walton, NY

Hi Larry, good to hear from you! Both of these belonged to John, Lee bought the blue flamed one in Tulsa last year at their show. Mike hasn't had the blue one but 3 or 4 months and its red flamed. Both beautiful guitars. Maybe they can fill you in one them better than I can. Bruce told me last year that he doesn't want to build anymore. Takes to long and lots of hard extra work. See ya, my friend. Ray

Both guitars belonged to John. He decided to go back to mica guitars. They are both lacquer, with the blue one having aluminum necks and the red one has wood necks. Blue one has been changed to Emmons set-up with 9 &9. Red one is Day set-up with 10&11. They both sound great. These guitars were built several years ago, Bruce said he would not build any more lacquer guitars.
