My wife called two days ago and they are all filled up and there is a waiting list.... guess we'll just sleep in the trunk, like the old days. |

Guys, just checked with The Little Brick Inn and they have a couple of rooms left. Its just one block from the Community Center where the steel show is at. Also, Joplin, Mo. is only 15 miles east of Baxter Springs on I-44 and they have lots of motel rooms. Also, Miami, Ok. is 15 miles south of Baxter and they have motels also. Rick, the phone number of the Little Brick Inn is 620-856-5646 and they have the Cafe on the Route restaurant with it. Baxter Springs is located on Old Route 66 and there's lot of places to visit while here. If I can help you in anyway, call me at 620-856-3314.

Gene, we have a RV hook-up at the park by Spring River. Got plenty (about 20) of spaces and its only $5.00 a night. We've already got about 5 RV's coming so you won't be by yourself down there. Only about 10 blocks from the Community Center. The last two years they never collected rent but who knows this year. Would love to have you come up if you can make it. Also, bring your steel if you want to as I have a place for you if you want to play. Your friends, Ray & Elizabeth

Ray and Leland.......my sincere thanks for your kindness in inviting me to play. The truth is, I have not played since my wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2002, and I am not currently capable of playing a show with the excellant musicians that you have on your schedule.
God bless you guys and I hope that you have a successful show. May I have a raincheck in the event that I can play on later shows?
Sincerely,
Gene Jones www.genejones.com |

Gene, you have an open invitation to play, or just come visit with us, any time you want. I just got home from all day Sat. at the show. It was great and I'm exhausted.
