| Awesome Steve I just love your playing I sometimes think I hear touches of Aubrey Ghent .I have spent many hours trying to get some of your licks off your Cds especially Slide,and it's all in open E tuning.Great stuff. Cheers Kelvin |

Your choices always surprise me Steve and they always sound right. I really enjoy your steel playing!
I'm very comfortable with a flatpick on standard guitar and I've tried and tried to use the hybrid pick and fingers approach you use but my ring finger won't cooperate and join the team. James Burton plays Dobro with pick fingers and one fingerpick on the middle finger. You can certainly get some kinds of licks going with a flatpick that are different in phrasing and attack fromusing finger and thumb picks. |
