I have 3 computers here. An XP laptop, a Dell Vista desktop and a W 7 desktop.
The XP has PC Tools which runs out in 5 days.
The other 2 have the free Avast program.

I'd like to buy a program for all three. Wiz recommended Trend Micro internet security. I think. I'm ready to go with that. Is that the one? My wife does bills on line on the W 7.
Desktops are Dell, the lap is HP.

Ken;
Trend Micro Internet Security Pro gives better protection for people doing a lot of online banking. It covers three PCs under one license. Pro has all that the standard version has, plus these features:

Trend Micro Internet Security Pro safeguards your personal information from hackers and cybercriminals whether you are at home or away:

* Remotely secure confidential files and folders in case your computer is lost or stolen
* Automatically check the legitimacy of Wi-Fi “hot spots” when using your laptop on the road
* Prevents data thieves, viruses, SMS text message spam and other malware from invading your smartphone
* Remotely erases data from your smartphone if it’s stolen
* Inspects web page content in real-time – so you’re protected even if you’re the first visitor to a new unsafe website
* Back up as much as 2GB of your critical data to a secure online site

I have a web page describing both Trend Micro Internet Security products. There is a significant discount code, for Internet Security Pro, on my page, good only until Aug 15! Scroll down to the Pro section and read the yellow paragraph. Use the Buy Now link, then copy my discount code and paste it into the shopping cart promotional field.

I will go with pro, however the promo code on your site will not work. It says it is invalid. Any ideas there?

Ken;
It was late last night when I added the discount code and link. I didn't realize that the link I added was for Singapore!

Anyway, sorry bout that Chief! The link now goes to the USA store. Go ahead and do the purchase. I tested it and it now works as expected.

Storm;
As for the free MSE, it is only worth what you pay to use it; nothing. I had to uninstall it from my PC, because it dragged it to a halt. I consider its detections good, but infrequent. A lot of malware went unrecognized for one or two days, before they updated the definitions.

I've got Trend Micro installed on 11 computers now and no hiccups on any of them. Regardless of what you pay for it, you get your money's worth. The Cloud Computing protection alone is worth the price.

Looking at the reviews you will see that it is tops in lots of categories. I was just looking at a bunch of sites to find ideas on how to boot up my laptop quicker. Along with making changes to the boot setup and modifying startup services, a lot of the web sites recommended Trend Micro for the fastest startup and running of your PC.

I had MS security essentials running of 2 of these computers until recently. Both of them bit the dust, one of them going to a rogue site that cloud computing would have prevented and another getting a virus from an email.

You might want to consider running MalewareBytes as well. It recently caught and removed a Trojan that neither Nortons, MS or Trend caught. There's a war going on out there!

Thanks Wiz. I'll get on it tomorrow.

Greg. I'm currently near Jamestown, NY for the summer. Used to play in Corry when I lived here 40 years ago. Are you gigging anywhere where we can come hear you some night?

Ken, I don't gig out much anymore and don't play much at all in the summer. My sister lives in Ashville/Lakewood so you are pry close to there. But I do watch Yankees games on TV and hang out a lot. Not much live music going on around here and esp. not country.

Well, Trend Micro Pro on one computer loaded. Off to do the others.

Thanks for all the help.
I'll have to do the same for the computers when I get home to CA. That's paying twice for machines on both ends of the country. Oh well. Better than a virus.
