Just got back from Nashville and 3 days of boot camp with Mike. What a great experience! I am a true beginner (only started playing this year), so I really needed some help. I had already developed some bad habits including incorrect right hand position which probably comes from years of finger style playing on a regular guitar. I didn't even have the picks on my fingers right!
Mike is a great teacher and fortunately very patient. As others have indicated, be sure and take a video recorder, boot camp is packed with information and techniques that you will want to review when you get home. Mike created custom exercises to help me, and showed me some great licks all of which he tabbed so I could take them home. I probably learned more in 3 days with Mike than I could have learned on my own in a year! Already I'm planning on returning for more in 6 months or a year after I digest everything Mike showed me.
Mike and Teresa are great hosts and I can't say enough about Teresa's southern cooking (Ask her for the cornbread recipe when you are there). I loved their stories about the music business, and could have listened for hours. Be sure and take the opportunity to go and hear Mike play at one of his regular gigs too. And Nashville is a great place to hear (live) the music you love. My wife Cheryl and I went to the Grand Ole Opry twice, and visited clubs every night and heard some fantastic music. A highlight was hearing The Time Jumpers at the Station Inn (Paul Franklin plays steel). One of the best times we have ever had on vacation.
All I can say is thank you Mike and Teresa for making boot camp such a awesome experience! Cheryl and I look forward to seeing you both again soon.

Mike has asked that I let you all know that his internet is down and probably will be until Monday. Boot Camp is still going strong! If you need to get a message to him before then; just shoot me an email and I'll make sure he gets the message. Mike say's thanks for your patience.
