This topic probably has been discussed here before, but are there any ready made 6 or 8 string lap steels out there with a string bender or muliti- bender unit to get that pedal steel effect but at a lot less the cost of the Pomona 6?

thanks!

For ready made, the Dusenberg is the only one I'm aware of. There is the retrofit and custom options though. Here is one I built for a player using the Duesenberg bridge from Rockinger.

My custom Allen Melbert "JackFish" with the Duesy Multibender is one of the best sounding lap steels I've ever heard. Bob Allen does great work and has great prices. He had no issue installing the multibender for me. Advice ... don't bother with the third bender. It's use is very limited and not worth the extra 50 euro I had to shell out for it.
