Wayne Hancock is playing some dates in the UK in the next few weeks. I was hoping to go and see him in Bristol. Does anybody know who will be playing steel with him? I assume from his recordings it will be non-pedal.

We don't get to see many high quality (or any) non-pedal steel players over here so it will be a real treat to catch this gig.

He doesn't have a steel player now.

That's a real shame, but thanks for letting me know, Mike. I probably won't go now as it's a bit of a drive for me.

I can't imagine Wayne Hancock without a steel. Saw him twice with Bob Hoffnar. Geez, what's the world coming to?

Bob and Huck were gone when I saw Wayne's show a couple moths ago. Big bummer. Still a cool show.

Yeah UK's Paul Godden's steel, weissenborn and dobro playing on Van Morrison's "Pay the devil' album a couple of years ago is really great-awesome tasty work all over it. Definitely worth getting a hold of.
My 2 cents,
Cheers-Joel

I've seen wayne 3 times now and he actually only had a steel player with him the most recent. it was Bob Hoffnar, and he tore it up! but Wayne's such a great performer, and always has such great players with him that he's just as good with or without a steeler. and coming from a steeler that's saying something!
