MSA Classic XL Lacquer D10 8&4

Post by David Kellogg »

Beautiful black MSA XL Classic. The guitar shows very little playing time. The rubber cups on the legs still have 95% of the little o-ring rib on the bottom. The undercarriage is spectacular. The lacquer finish is very nice. The case is also in excellent condition but as you know this is one heavy guitar. Now for the only flaws, very few bar dings between necks and they are tiny. there is a small crack between the changer hole of the E9 neck and the endplate, very unoticeable and doesn't effect the playing. The white stuff you see between fretboards is just polish, I will try to get that off also.
ImageOther than that it is perfect. I will be shipping it without the strings installed as the original were rusty a little and I wanted to polish the fretboards before selling. $1350 + shipping.

key heads

Post by David Kellogg »

Well I decided to clean the keyhead area today so the buyer won't have to. Polished the fretboards and the keyheads which I removed to do it right. My mancave is a great place to work on the guitars.

I think this model had a triple raise/lower changer, is that correct?

MSA Millennium, Legend, and Studio Pro, Reese's restored Universal Direction guitar, as well as some older MSAs, several amps, new and old, and a Kemper Powerhead that I am really liking. Recently added a Zum D10, a Mullen RP, and a restored blue Rose, named the "Blue Bird" to the herd. Also, I have acquired and restored the plexiglass D10 MSA Classic again that was built as a demo in the early '70s. I also added a '74 lacquer P/P, with wood necks.

MSA Classic

Post by Burnell Groft »

These old MSA are great playing guitars,I am playing an old MSA Vintage D10 9x7 with Supersustain pick ups.The one I have has the triple raise and lower. I guess thats is the differnce between the Classic and the Vintage the changer.LOL

David was asking "$1350 + shipping" (which seems like a fair price to me).

This may have gotten lost in the fine print since it was first listed here.

would you consider taking a 1972 ZB custom in trade. ZB does need some under carridge work. but a beautiful guitar.

David,

Please advise me of your email address if you wish to see pics of the guitar I have to trade if the MSA is still available, as I am about to purchase another guitar.
Your MSA is one of the two I will choose from if it is still available and you are interested in my trade.
Thanks.

Back in the closet

Post by David Kellogg »

Well I decided to put strings on this beauty and put it in the closet for now. I would preffer to sell it locally as it weighs a ton. It would also be to disrespectful to Reese to sell it for less.
