I am new to the lap steel and am looking for a good amp. I am playing a 59 Fender champ through a Fender Musicmaster bass tube-amp that is about 12w. When I am playing with friends the amp gets drowned out pretty easily so I am looking to buy an amp that would be louder and appropriate for the steel. I am mostly interested in playing older country tunes so a clean tone would be best. Anyone have any suggestions for amplification? I am partial to Fender but am willing to branch out. Thanks.

Eric,

Please do a search in the Electronics section of this forum. We have many discussions on this same topic in the appropriate area. (hint, hint...)

The main questions I'd ask in response are: 1) how loud do you need to be? and 2) how much money do you want to spend?
