An Evening Tale
For those of you who might be interested, I've uploaded an mp3 of one of my newer compositions tentatively titled, "An Evening Tale".
The mood for this is is kind of quiet, but hopefully with a slow-burning intensity of purpose. When writing and playing this song, I imagined a campfire - maybe in today's times or perhaps hundreds or thousands of years ago when people sat around a fire at night, and someone began speaking, telling the story of a person - maybe someone he or she knew; someone from a long time ago; or a being legendary, mythical or primordial. I kept thinking about how this was the way history and values were passed down - by word of mouth and probably at night. This song could be a story about anyone, perhaps even me or you.
This song was written and hurriedly recorded a month ago in hopes that someone would play or sing this on my European tour, but it was only performed once as a solo - in Jerusalem (there is a very short clip of that performance on Facebook).
There is a short reference to late fifties early sixties pop music in the middle - that could be me (or you).
Here is the link: http://picosong.com/yCK/. I hope you like this piece - flaws and all.
