Finally paid my dues and joined up.Here's my home made contraption.

Didn't have access to much in the way of power tools,so I kept it rather simple.Body rock maple,board is paduak.The "frets" are pieces of a pre made marquetry strip that i got at a local wood working supply store.The diamond markers were cut out of some old ivory piano key veneers.The nut is bone. The pickup is from Guitar Parts USA.Actually sounds good.

I'm going to add a lipstick pickup to it at the neck and replace the barrel saddles on the bridge with a steel bar and make a nice stand for it.
As far as playing, although I've had the steel for a few years, I've recently got more serious about playing it,having a lot to do with this site and the wonderful member music that's been posted here. It's in C6 tuning and I'll soon be getting some serious learning materials.Anyway,glad to be here and my thanks to all the other members who make this such an informative and fun site to visit.  |

Looks familiar, Steven. Think we have the same How to Build a Lap Steel book. Nice job.
