Who's playing in St. Louis this year?

Post by Nicholas Dedring »

Trying to figure out attending ISGC this year after missing last year. Any idea as to who is confirmed to play the convention this time around? I know Lloyd Green and Buddy Emmons both couldn't make it last year, I'm hoping they'll be there this time around... those two sets were really a highlight of being there a couple of years ago.

So, who's got the inside info on this??

I just asked Michael Scott that question when I was in Scotty's Monday evening and he knows nothing yet.

Well, the trip to St. Louis fell through, the only fellow who could cover for my husband is attending an important wedding on those dates. So St. Louis is out, Hawaii is out. And I'm goin out an eat worms.

Don't feel too bad, Leila. I can't make it either, and neither can alot of other people who want to go. Last year, I just got out all my steel CD's and made my own "Convention." Maybe we can both make it next year to say "Howdy" to each other in the proccess.

Remember, if you can't make it to St. Louis for the ISGC, you CAN tune in to SteelRadio.com hear a lot of the convention via your favorite internet radio station. Just go to http://steelradio.serverroom.us:8300/listen.pls Image

I'm guessing that players are invited by Scotty? To that extent, I would like to suggest a number of super...and I mean SUPER...pickers out there for consideration to play and be heard....all younger players, too!:

Terry Wendt (Nashville)
Mike Sweeney (Nashville)
Albert Svendaal (Minnesota)
David Spires (Nashville)

Joe,

I'd like to add a few more to you list.

1. BOB HEMPKER (A great player who's long, LONG, overdue!)
2. T.C. Furlong
3. Jerry Ericson

I'm sure you can think of others who've labored quietly in the trenches, who've more than earned the right to be heard. These guys are as important to the instrument as many of the "Big Guns" who automaticly make the program every year.

L.A.

I was told that Sarah Jory - who has been a great hit the last two years - will not be there this year...and what a shame..she puts on one of the best player and non-player friendly demonstrations there that I have even seen. We need more like her..

I got a suspicion there are lots of good players on the "AIN'T" list!! Sometimes I wonder if politics has anything to do with it? Naw, surely not!

I know for sure that Lloyd Green can't make it this year due to other obligations, as we all know he is back and in demand playing recording sessions, but I bet that Scotty will put up a great show, as usual.

I'll be there (not playing Image) but I am looking forward to hear great music and meet a lot of you fellows in person. I hope the last announcement doesn't make you stay home! Image

See ya there, Walter
