Hey Folks-
I was asked to learn a steel part for one song for one ridiculously huge show(which would've had me playing in front of too many people anyway), agreed to do it, borrowed a steel from a buddy, and got him to show me the part. The band decided they didn't need the steel live. The problem is I kinda got hooked on playing it. I still have a really simple 3 pedal and two knee lever E9 MSA on loan. But I'm loving playing. So I think I GOTTA get my own. Never saw myself as a steel player, but it's too fun...
I've been lurking around here, picking up tips and learning all kinds of stuff about the instrument itself, and starting to learn some stuff - much of it from you guys. It's been awesome and truly fun. Just like it was when I picked up the guitar almost 20 years ago as a kid.
So what do I need? I have all the necessary "extras". All I need is the pedal steel guitar itself. I am required by law (my wife's law - far worse than Uncle Sam's) to find the absolute most affordable one I can, so I gotta find the cheapest one I can that is still reliable (or moderately reliable, anyway..). I have a bunch of cool guitar gear, amps, boutique pedals, and guitars (alot of the stuff being vintage) that I'd be interested in trading, too. So can anybody help me out?
Thank y'all,
John Murry

trade car-star for reso
John, I've got a Carter-Starter in excellent condition that I might be willing to trade -- possibly along with some cash -- for an OMI era square neck Dobro with good case. Please send me a PM or email if this sounds interesting to you. Of course, if you've got some good stuff to trade, you might want to aim a little higher in the food chain than the Starter. Thanks.

Thanks Howard, that looks like a deal! I don't know if he'd accept any trade, so I 'll see. Course, I could scrounge up the cash maybe if I had to.
Hi Michael- The only dobro I have is a roundneck. Sorry. If there's anything else you're looking for, though, let me know.
Hey Bill- How do I check that one out? Is it on the Peavey site? I'll look...
Thanks, Guys! Hopefully find something soon!
