Hello all, It is now the day after.
Reece.... DeeDee and David have gone to a barbeque right now but when they get back I'll have her give you a full report on Davids behavior
As far as the music, David pounded me into the stage floor an estimated two feet. When I crawled out of that hole enough so that my eyeballs were sticking out I said to myself "I've got to get onto that C6 neck more". It was at that time that I decided to pull in my horns, set over and play the piano. I guess the issue as to who was going to give who steel lessons was just a big misunderstanding. hehe
Seriously, It went just as well as you could imagine. I did play steel mostly, and we swaped it back and fourth with ease. What a pleasure to play with such a professional where a simple glance to the other is the understood sign.
Aya, we just had a "WICKED" good time.
Relieved Merle

Oh, and we've got plenty of good photos taken by a professional friend of mine to share. We'll probably put them on the silver spur web site. We'll let you know.
And Sam.... Too bad you couldn't make it. Your ringside seat was given to a steel player from Parsonsfield, Maine who said "he wanted to see everything".

Reece....I'm reporting in! The choke chain worked BEAUTIFULLY!!! haha! Acutally, I didn't need it at all. David behaved himself remarkably well on stage! He follows instructions pretty good! hehe! It was a great show! Uncle Merle was right. The swap between him and David was done with such ease it was pleasure to play bass for these two! The two different styles of Uncle Merle and David's playing gave the fans something to really dance to and enjoy. Don't let Uncle Merle fool you...he kept up with David just fine! Couldn't have asked for a better night!
Yes David and I went out to a BBQ yesterday with some friends about a mile down the road from where I live. We were on the boat most of the afternoon and I even got David to do some tubing! We'll have to put those pictures on the net too right Uncle Merle?
Seriously, it was a super time and just want to publicly thank David for coming up and doing this show for me. He's a true gentleman and has a heart of gold.

Did you wear your "Crash Helment" as usual?
It sounded kinda ruff place to go,you should have stopped by my place and practiced a few warm up moves on me.I don't have a defence for a choke chain though,Reece must really know how to control you.

Thanks Reece! It wasn't an easy job keeping David under control, as you know, but I'm kinda getting used to it now, it's not all that bad!
Uncle Merle and I will be in St. Louis for sure...wouldn't miss it! Can't wait to see you and the whole MSA gang! Thanks again for the advice on the choke chain and all...it helped a LOT! hehe!

The Pictures are IN! If you go to my website www.thesilverspurclub.com and click on pictures, there's a link there by David's picture. If you click on that it'll bring you right to the pictures. I believe there's around 102 of them!!! I'll will be posting some on my web too after I get the CD from the photographer. But for now you can view them through the link on the web. They came out pretty good and you can tell David and Uncle Merle jammed it up but good! What a great time!!! ENJOY!!!!
p.s. some of my favorites are picture #10,77,89
Reece....as you can see in picture #85 I almost had to dig out the choke chain...but he calmed down after I told him to "check his tone"!! haha!
[This message was edited by DeeDee Record on 22 July 2005 at 12:17 PM.]
