David, I don't have any tab to offer, just some suggestions. This is a fairly simple song, 3 chords, simple melody. The basic thing is to learn to play the melody. In a band situation, if you were going to play a solo, more than likely, it would just be an full verse, playing the melody.

How to approach this? You need to learn to play the basic scales. You need to know how to move between the chord positions in a musical way, using chords and maybe some single notes, all of which are part of the scale. So, learn your scales, single note scales and harmonized scales. That's really the only way to do it. Good luck.

David, please don't take this wrong, but which version are you looking for. The intro on Merle's Youtube that I found, is piano. Leona's is steel on this version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlOPY1HfFTQ but it is guitar on another I found a Youtube of, with just some fill on steel.

Do you want the intro or the break? Merle's or Leona's or maybe someone elses? Are you wanting to do it as an instrumental? Are you backing up a singer?

You can see how and why you might not get any takers on your request. If I had the time to help you by tabbing this out, I would be at a lose, by not knowing exactly what you wanted. And probably dismiss it all together.

I believe the best way to get something tabbed is to put up a Youtube link of the song you want done. Then explain exactly what it is you are looking for, with the timing marks of that passage of the youtube.

This still may not get you or anyone, any help, but it will come closer then just the title of a song. Especially one that has been done by many people and bands.

Again, please don't take this wrong. I'm seriously just trying to help you and others requesting tab.

David, now we're talking. Check your email in a few days, I'll see what I can come up with. It will be basic and simple, but should serve.

Also, maybe our friend Joe Barcus will chime in here, it never hurts to come up with several ideas. In the mean time, work on figuring out the chords to the song. That is where my ideas will come from, that and the melody line.

This is the version I'll be working with. A great song, by the way.
