Got to spend some time with David and his wife Pat this past Saturday and Sunday (wonderful Folks). Bob Strum and I were talking about our Greenville days in the 1960's. Dr. Strum played a wonderful set on his Pedalmaster 12 string, beautiful tone and execution,no effects just Bob and a Nashville 112.He played the old standards with a lot of full chord progressions.Fine steel player. ER Chandler was down from the Kannapolis area (He is one of the host of the Kanapolis show)we had a nice visit talked about his upcoming show, wants me to bring my Rickenbacker up there next time.
I open my Sunday set with the 56 yr old Rickenbacker, sucker was a growling, then got one of our ole codger's group Emory Williams to come up and play some harmony with me.He plays a 4 string Fender mandolin. I switched over to my MSA and we had a great time playing some of the old square dance tunes in 2 part harmony.Bob said we could play in "G" as he was using all those fancy chords in his set. Had a great backup band. I sure David will tell us who they were as I forget names at my age.Charles Reece played 2 nice sets. Bill Smith was over from Sumter and did a set and David finished the day. You folks missed a good show.
