George Jones and band did a great job at Pat Garrett,s Ampitheatre,Strausstown Pa. past Saturday.George is amazing for his age and his band was great especially Tom Killin on steel. His taste and technique are a lesson on how to backup a singer. He was playing a 1973 Sho-Bud with super tone.I was playing with Pat on my 1970 Emmons PP and it was great to hear these vintage steels that sound so good. Also my buddy Wally of Wally,s Steel Guitar Shop was playing the gig with Macosto County Line on his Mullin getting good sounds. The show was interrupted by heavy rains but the fans stuck it out and we got the whole show in.Don,t miss George if you get the chance.

I must agree with TV, TK plays very tastefully and has a great sound. Mr. Jones really gets the job done. He is a living legend and to share the same stage was an honor. Thanks to Russ Kern for helping me lug my equipment through the rain and mud and to Pat Garrett for inviting the MCL Band to perform. I decided to do the new equipment thing rather than my vintage thing. I missed my push pull tone/Steel King thing ; however, the Mullen SD10/Evans SE200 was a nice change of pace and lot lighter.
