I have a Goodrich pedal that I've had for many years. It has an active circuit in it and requires a 9 volt battery. After getting back into steel playing just recently, the steel came with a new Goodrich pedal. However, this one is passive and requires no battery (which is very convenient). I'm wondering if there's a way that I can convert my old active pedal to passive and ditch the battery requirement? One other minor issue is the response taper. It seems that both of these pedals are a bit too quick at one point in the travel, increasing the volume quicker than I'd prefer. I wonder if there would be any mod available to make the volume response more even throughout. Thanks for any help on this. Kevin |

Can you tell by looking at how your passive pedal is wired? |

It sounds like your pedal with the battery must be the model with the built in "Match Box" circuit. |

Kevin sounds like your older pedal with the battery is the H10k version ...don't think you can convert that to passive mate, you might have to invest in a new battery ! _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

There was a thread just recently about changing the taper of pots with added resistors. Maybe someone can find it. The Forum's "Search" function and I do not have a friendly relationship! |

If it's a model L10k pedal it's easy. Just remove the circuit board/battery compnents, and change the pot to a standard 500k pot. Done it myself. |

It sounds like it would be a little less labor-intensive to just put a new battery in the pedal! |
