I have a 66 Fender Pro Reverb all orig except speakers (replacements are 1965 Fender blue label Oxford T series, from a Twin) with an extra knob added to the face plate for a mid control (the hole was there when I got it). Other than that, all the trannies and blue tone caps are orig. It's in nice cosmetic shape, runs great. I have a chance to trade it for a 1976 Boogie Mark I 100w with reverb that is in good shape but has some road wear. would I be coming out on the losing side of this value wise or are they close enough in value, and potential value down the line, to make the trade worthwhile if I like the tone of the Boogie better?

Thanks

For excellent, original condition, VG price guide gives these ranges:

Boogie Mark I Combo, 71-78: $925-1125

Fender Pro Reverb Amp, Blackface 65-67: $1900-2300

Of course, condition matters a lot - the Pro has been modified, and the price guide doesn't get into the difference between Boogie black tolex vs. hardwood w/ cane wicker grill. I think 15" speaker models are also a bit more rare and valuable - you don't say what this is. But unless there was something compellingly problematic with the Pro and unusually outstanding about the Boogie (which I would expect to be hardwood/wicker in excellent, original condition), I would want some money on that deal or just buy the Boogie outright.

Just my take.
