To my knowledge, Jerry never had a D string in his C Diatonic tuning. Am I wrong?

If he did have a D string (or two), I would like to know if it was tuned to harmonize with G or with A.

b0b, you're correct. Jerry purposely left out the D string and called his tuning "A near diatonic" tuning. It is a 7-string tuning, low to hi: E F G A B C E.
