Tim McGraw played a concert here in Tampa last week, and the scalpers were getting $500.00 for a pair of front row seats -- and they sold out. 'nuff said.

What do you think about Gangstagrass?
Like T.O.N.E-z & Gangstagrass?

I kind of like a few of the songs.

And so is most everything elese. When the public quits buying, the business will star a changing. So rail away, even though i agree whole hardly. This is as bg a waste of time as complaining about politicians.

just made myself to watch about 15 minutes of CMA on TV (that was all I could handle) ...only two words I have to say "BIG JOKE" ..there is not a one person who can sing on that show anymore...and I was unfortunate enough to catch some of that dumb a$$ humor by some old fat lady rubbin on some dudes six pack...? what was that all about..? what a joke ...

We're all going to die, and the stupid little kids will be in charge. Then they'll die....

There's a great new book out called "Pandora's Seed" about how the advent of farming 10,000 years ago led to cities, the accumulation of personal wealth & hoarding despotic warlords & slaves (wage and other), the formation of cities led to armies & organized warfare, hoarding of knowledge led to the "elite" ruling the peasants.... so it started way back.

Ccma

Post by Billy Carr »

Here's an idea for all of us Classic Country folks. CCMA - "Classic Country Music Association". Someone that is really connected and knows the right people to contact can get the ball rolling. With some big money backers, advertisers and knocking on the right doors, there's no reason CCMA cannot compete with the so called, "Country" of today. If there's already a CCMA then we'll name it something else. Think of the possible CCMA membership in just our 50 states. Classic Country is what helps make steel guitar shows so popular along with the players. Just my .02.

One trouble with that is they CAN'T compete with the Country Music of today. No more than Rock and Roll could compete with the Rock of Yesteryear..I'm still in the belief that Country music is Country music..Try finding enough Air Play, Venues,Sales, and Studio's to release enough Classic Country to make this work?..One has to be content now that there is still good Country out there if you look for it..What is new is too popular to compete against..Plus all the suporters are gradually getting too old to compete too...me for one..

I have watched an interview with George Jones who said: " they (the new stars) are not bad in what they do, but they need to find another name for their music, because it sure isn`t a COUNTRY music"...

I watch the awards show, it sucks. I seen one steel guitar and it was in Brad Paisley band but I coundn't hear it for the lead guitar, why have a steel if you over ride his talent and show out with a loud lead guitar, easy back a little brad and keep it country. Yea change the name to junk country rock, Shorty

Shorty changing a name does not make anythiing different just the name itself..But when you change the Music and call it something it is not, now thats different..You can't force or brainwash difference into people..One statement song that always bugged me was "I was Country when Country wasn't cool"..I'd rather it said "I was Country when Country was good"..Call it what they want now,you can put a fur lined cover over a garbage can..But it's still a garbage can..
