How Much?
Definately a nice guitar but what makes this one worth $1000 more than The Vintage Guitar Price Guide shows it being worth?? Am I missing something?

Ron, I know all about the Price Guide, at times that guide is right on other times it isn't, I just follow the market and E-Bay and dealers have these earlier '52 Tele re-issues 1982 to 1990 out for $2500.00 and up the $3500.00 dollar mark.$1500.00 for junky ones... Most dealers have "Call" on them , so I felt mine was under priced compared to the dealer guys, a new one is $1500.00 go figure, the ealiy re-issue stuff is pricey...so I don't know what you missing either, ... This one is super nice...I'm always open to offers... Bob

Prices
Fender prices are nuts...I had One exactly like this in Denver in 1987. I bought it from Kenny Vaughn for $600, and sold it a few months later for $550 cause I needed money. It listed for About $1100 at the time!!!!!!! By todays standards its a $1500 Axe...go figure! I must say It was the best guitar I"ve ever owned, and I wish I could buy this one!

very nice axe , give it a bump for bob.
I own two of these axes,an 88 and an 89, I cannot comment on the price here but I can make three comments on availability in this condition. RARE, RARE and RARE. Especially the NO FRET wear.
52RI's were made very consistent from 82 thru around 91 or 92, after that they were still very nice guitars but were "different" than the earlier production guitars. This one, being a 90, puts it into a unique category especially with all of the original case candy.

What's the neck like on this one, Bob? I assume it's big like a '50s should be, but I always have a faint hope that one of these will have a slimmer neck.

Hi Chris, the neck is not a huge neck, the No Casters have a HUGE neck, this is a 7.25 radius I believe, very comfortable....Bob

Thanks, Bob....I have a hand on me like a toddler. I do find the 7.25 radius helps.

Chris, these guit's have very fast, very slim C necks, 7.25's, the two I have are pretty much identical with the exception that the 89 has sightly fatter frets, both of mine I would say are the two best Tele's I have ever layed hands on, and I don't normally pass on any in front of me and have not for years, decades even.
I suspect Bobs guitar here is as good as they can get !
