I recently bought a 1940's Rickenbacker Bakelite S-6.

Everything in working order but the Volume Control knob does not work easily when I want to do 'violin effect'

What is the best thing I can do to make the volume control knob rotate easily with my pinky finger?

Aloha, Smile
Don

Don, Remove the knob from the shaft. Then place
one drop of penetrating oil on the shaft and let it wick into the bushing. Replace the knob and work the shaft a few times. That should free it up.
I usually use a toothpick to get the one drop.
If you don't have any penetrating oil, sewing machine
oil will work. Lacking any of that any household
oil is OK.
