Stopped the first day at Lake Hartwell and caught a few. Left and went to Lake Russell the second day and caught between 10 and 25 everyday except the last day and blue bird skies and very little wind we only caught 6. Great trip just me and the wife and two other boats with four good friends. We really enjoyed the 10 days. Wife dropped her cell phone in 17 ft of water. Guy dived in twice to retrieve it but too many big rocks and christmas trees to find it. THe funny thing is the phone is suppose to be water proof and it was still working two days later. You could call it and get her voice mail. Guess the fish loved it.

How far is Greenville located from Nashville? I'm not familiar with it. I don't know if I would/could play or not at the moment and also, the choice of instruments would be a tough one too! Here is what I would have to choose from!!!!

John, it's around 1 hour east of Knoxville to give you a ideal on distance. I remember you coming to Bristol a few years back and doing some fine playing.

Hi John it is about 178 miles from Nashville to Knoxville and then add what Tony told you about another 60 miles or one hour.
.It is up in the air if Anna and I will be coming as they are supose to have I-40 open threw the mountains and that makes it 100 miles Shorter for us to travel.Maybe ????????

Every musician here in Nashville knows that even though Knoxville is only 178-miles away, it still takes a day and a half to get there from here! haha! I'll keep my eye on the plans posted here! I haven't played away from my house in several years! Kinda hard to get around! Old man that I am! Thanks,

John that is if you are going by mule teams and a buck board. It only takes me 3 to 4 hours. No grass grows under my Wheels.I just back into a Van in the Wal Mart.parking lots and last night I wiped out a yard light in my Neighbors yard.Either time I did no damage to my Ford Escape.I knocked the light off the top of the pole.Haa now I have to see what that little deal is going to cost me. It cost me $300. for the dent I put in a Plymouth Voyager. The woman came flying in back of me to get a handy cap space and there were people waiting for that spot. She asked them if they seen me back into her and they said no you took our parking spot and we seen nothing.

Update

Post by John Sheffey »

As of now I have an offer from a resturant in Johnson City of no charge. Food will be available. Before I post it for sure I will go and check the place out. I hate to have it in JC but I figure It would be more convienent for more player than to drive to Greeneville. Annie Stagner of JC has this set up and she tells me the food is super and very very reasonable. If they have the space would everyone be willing to have it there? I will be checking it out on Wed of this week and will post the results as soon as I return.
The name of the place is "Everette's" on Roan Street located in the building where "nashville sound" was.

Hi Mike I know what you are going threw with your back. My Son just had to go back to the hospital as he had his back operated on two years ago today and he has had bad back pain for the two years. They told him the Doctor that operated on him use all obsolete parts and they were on call back and he used them any way. Now that Doctor is in Georgia some where and he is in some big trouble. They told my Son today that if the Doctor put the Titanium bars in front of his spine they can not replace it.He took out two Disc and put in two titanium bars with 8 Stainless screws and a small Shock absorbor. He is only 45 years old and he just got his Son from his Ex wife.

Greeneville, Tn jam moved to Johnson City, TN

Post by George Kimery »

I talked to Mike Archer at the Outdoorsman Friday night and he said the jam is on for the 22nd from 9 am til 3 pm. I must be loosing my eyesight, because I have not been able to find the time and for sure if it is a go, posted on the forum. Anyway, I plan on being there. I am playing Friday night, then the jam on Saturday, then playing Saturday night, so I will have a busy weekend. Looking forward to it.

OK, I found my glasses and finally seen John's post on the 3/28. But it says 10 am and Mike told me 9 am. I am assuming that because the last one in Bristol was at 9 am, that Mike was assuming this one was the same time. Anyway, unless I hear different, I will assume that John's post stating 10 am is correct.

Unrelated to the jam, but appropriate. I broke one of the knobs on my Steel King and need a new one. The stores I have checked only sell them in bags of 6 for $18.00. I ONLY NEED ONE. If anybody has a knob and would like to sell it to me, please bring it to the jam, or would anybody like to split a bag if I buy 6 of the suckers. I think this is a standard Fender knob used on most of their amps.

Can anyone tell me how to find the venue? I'm in Abingdon doing the 'Patsy' show and will have a performance at 2.00 pm that day but, if the steel show is to be that morning, it'd be nice to come and visit and meet some of you guys! Sounds like it's only about thirty miles away for me.....
