I have this D-10 Push Pull that no one so far has been able to identify for me. It has a wooden pedal board. Three knees and eight pedals. The wooden necks are about 3/8th of an inch thick. It appears the changers are not bolted on but put on with a screw of some kind.But they may be bolts.Also the changers were cut down as I will try to show in the next set of photos. Also notice the brown badge.. The serial number is 1005 MD.
I will post some pictures and try later to shoot some close ups of the changers and bell cranks.

Well, it looks like a D-10 Rosewood colored Black-Rock.Not sure what it's worth. But it's rare.You may have a one of a kind?

Hey Bobby , that's what I been calling it. I have spoke with a number of folks with a lot of Emmons history and they have never seen a D-10 Black Rock.
The guitar really vibrates and has the great Emmons p/p sound |

For what it's worth, the only Black Rock Emmons guitars I have seen, are all rosewood. There maybe some of another color too. Maybe Mike Cass or Jack Strayhorn can tell us about the Black Rock thing.
It appears it was an intermediate guitar between the student model and the Top of the line models. |

I have seen another of these on this forum --maybe the same one ?
BlackRock guitars were a step up from the student model but did not have the full raised neck of the pro model .I have owned 2 of them ,both black mica bolt on changer full end plates and a neck about 1/4" thick like the d10 here . The pedal boards were mica covered wood also that attach to the legs with a bolt and wing nut . |

It was no doubt this same one you saw. I posted it a couple of years ago trying to identify it. Were the two you owned S-10 or D-10. I have seen a few S-10 guitars but never a D-10 Black Rock. |

Is this the one? Aluminum necks.....standard changer, etc. 1970 model.

Never seen one like that. All of the BR-10's made while I worked there were Satin Black Mica. Hence Black Rock. It may be an S-8 body converted to a 10 stringer. Big Ron was pretty resourceful. I know for a fact we made S-10's on S-12 frames. 8 stringers and 12 stringers never sold as well 10 stringers! The pedal board is for a GS-10 which only had 3 pedals which makes this even stranger. Maybe Brian Adams would know for sure.

My 2 Blackrocks were identical S10's. Gloss black mica .
Nic , that one looks like a pro model with a student/blackrock pedal board . |

Hi Brendan,
That's what I thought......I had a SD10 (the one in my avatar) and these two had the identical undercarriage; Machine heads, necks and changer. So, for some reason somebody wanted the wooden rack (maybe cosmetic looks? ). I've been trying to get the metal rack, but with no success, to date. Because of the wooden neck, the pedals are situated about an inch towards you, making it uncomfortable for one's leg.

Here are some photos of the underside, changers and keyhead. The changer are bolt on or screwed on and the roller assembly appears to be cut down to a lower profile. The cabinet has no metal trim on it except for the endplates. There seems to be no record of the serial number ( 1005 MD )

| Wow ,looks like it has been cleaned by that guy on youtube ,or left out in the rain .Should clean up though .Only difference between this and a pro model is the lower neck and the pedal board . |
