Can't say enough about this one..Just a BIG THANKS for the privilege of being asked to play. I never met Mr Crawley but from what I heard of him it sounded like I would be a friend of his too. The talent at the show was second to none. The people were great. I Iook forward to seeing this event as being one of the must be at shows. I'm already looking for the next one. Thanks Barney and Ray for your tireless efforts in putting this one together. I know it was for the right reason and that makes it so much more special.

JD
PS: The venue or this show is one of the best I've seen.

I think this is the best show we have ever had. Barney thanks to you a nd Ray fora great time. All of us weere treated like Kings, and the venue was great. That connie thrilled the crowd with her playing. Bret did a couple with Don Lynch. Bob Strum was his usuale good self playing was great.

Finally met with bobbe Seymour and was not disapointed.he is a great guy.

Got off on the south side of Macon and Jack and I was lost for 45 minutes, don't fly with us, an Airline pilot and a private pilot lost on the ground, sorry Jack I just had to tell this.
We spent the night in Gray and came home fresh Sunday morning.Connie is staying over to play with us tonight at the columbia county Jamboree.

All of us had a big time thanks for asking us.AND YES BARNEY MAKE IT THREE TIMES A YEAR

The "Ole Clinton Opry" show Sat. was a complete success according to the 15 players that played and a great staff band. A special thanks to all of them for sharing thier exceptional talents with us. The "Ole Clinton Opry" owner, Paul Moncrief and his family made every one welcome and everyone is looking forward to the next show, possibly scheduled on the 15th of Oct. The Bar B Q was just great!! Plenty of parking, a very fine building and easy access to the stage.

Ray Guin did an exceptional job with the "Frank Crawly" award ceramony. Many musicians told their stories about thier experiences with Frank from begining to end Bobbe Seymour, Billy Puckett, Jack Conyers ,Ernest Jump, Bud Jones and Charlie Smith . Frank Crawley will be missed by everyone.

The show started with Bob Evens leading us in prayer and some very fine arranged gospel tunes. Next up Bob Strum, our Dr. Dentist standby played exceptionaly well, followed by the youngster Johnathon Cullifer. Watch out for this guy , he is really improving thanks to a fine player/teacher Garland Nash. Then comes Roger Crawford, not only did he play steel guitar but also drums and is also the pres. of the Georgia Steel Guitar Assoc. His contribution to our show was really appreciated. Jack Conyers is always an asset to any steel show and was very helpful in the begining stages of this one. You can always depend on Jack for support and he played well.

Don Lynch, from Pratville, Al. is just amazing to see and hear. His plesant stage apperance and the sound he gets on that old ShoBud is fantastic. He also helped Bret Day perform "Look At Us" and an old Hank Williams song. That Bret is always a joy to watch. Thanks Deb and Gary for bringing him. He makes every steel show complete.

Bill Nicholson, with that double 12, did a fine job on eveything he played. Sometimes he does a solo rendition of "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" which he promised to do on our next show.

Rob Parker drives all the way from Kentucky, a fine steel player and exceptional singer shared his talents all day and greatly improved our show. He is also instrumental in steel guitar shows all over the country.

Larry Moore was missed by everyone due to an emergency with his wife, Yvonne. Our prayers are with ya'll. Hope to see you at the next one.

Connie Burton was kind enough to fill in for Larry. She just tore that single neck JCH apart. What a pleasure to watch and hear . this was her first time to perform at a steel show. We will have her back for the next one. Ernest Cawby was instrumental in bringing Connie to our show. This is just another one of Ernest's contributions to the steel guitar industry. I know of no other person that has helped us more (and other shows) than Ernest. He and his family have been doing this a lot of years and he is always welcome here.

Another player, Jack Dougherty (thanks to Ernest) really played fine and we hope that he will come back.

Joe Turner, from Starr S.C., is a different kind of player. He has the ability to play all types of music and does so with perfection. He also backed up Jerry Braswell, our work horse over from Dallas, Ga. Jerry did some tunes from his CD "Classic Country" which was enjoyed by us all. Jerry also played guitar and bass with the staff band and we really appreciate his talents.

Herby Wallace and Bobbe Seymour are world class players and we were very fortunate to have them on our show. We hope they will be regulars in the future. The audiance showed thier appreciation to these fine players and we thank them for being there.

To close out the show a group of players closely associated with Frank Crawley namely Bud Jones, Charlie Smith, Ernest Jump and others plus Don Lynch on the ShoBud played some good old country tunes to everyones sattisfaction.

The staff band always makes us sound better than we really are and what a fine one we had. Wayne Smith on Bass, Billy Puckett and Bud Jones on guitar, Tony Duck on Fiddle, Tim Partlow on keyboard and Jerry Braswell (our all star singer and player) and our work horse Roger Crawford sitting in on drums. I personally want to thank these players for their hard work all day long. Without them there would be no show.

Thanks to all. You are all invited back in October!!!

This show was one of the greatest I have ever attended, or been a part of. Great players, great friends, great fellowship.
Folks I had met on the forum but not in person until now, folks I hadn't seen in years, and the rekindling of great friendships made this memorial show for Frank Crawley a day I'll never forget.
I have praised and thanked all the staff and players in my news letter.
I Was so glad to see Joe Turner, Connie Burton, Ernest Cawby, Don Lynch, Jack Daughtry, Barney Miller and meet the great Ray Guin along with sharing the stage with a favorite player "Herb Wallace" again. What a great guy and phenomenal player.
I have left out many people I wish to thank , but all were greatly appreciated.
