What are the best strings to use on a Weissenborn guitar for A-major tuning?

James,
I play a Superior Weissenborn in the A, high bass, tuning.
I ordered a set of Newtone Aloha stings from Guitar Gallery in White House, Tennessee.
These strings are supposed to come up to pitch with less tension on the rather delicate Weissenborn.
I custom ordered a set in the following gauges:
E 14
C# 17
A 20
E 30
C# 36
A 42
I am very happy with the choice of stings and the gauges.
Erv

Sorry to revive this ancient thread but what gauge would be appropriate for a low E in the low bass version of the A tuning on a Weissenborn?

Use whatever string gauge you'd use for a low E in standard guitar tuning. The only difference between standard guitar tuning and low bass A tuning are the fourth string (D tuned up to E), the third string (G tuned up to A) and the second string (B tuned up to C#). Any set of standard guitar strings should work with this tuning.
