Post by Vernon Hester »

Here is the Rickenbacker I used in the 1950's for TV and other playing jobs. The picture is from a ad in 1951.I recorded this tune in 2004 or 2005 with the Rickenbacker. Come Listen.

That's how I remember you doing it when I used to watch you and Junior on channel 9. Perfection!!

Clyde,
Thanks, I miss Adkins a lot when I play. He had the instinct to know where you were going and enhance everything you did. We use to do some beautiful harmony on a lot of stuff.
Folks with that talent are few and far between.
Best Regards.

Vernon: That was a real pleasure to listen to. You have great style. You prove what I have been thinking a lot recently: Great playing comes from the hands, not the pedals. Paul

Thanks, Paul,
That's very true,You can suck the tone and expressions the way you like them with your hands.
I had the Rickenbacker Pickups rebuilt after I recorded that tune. Wish I had left them alone.

Way to go Vernon. Sounded great. I have a single 8 Rick that I purchased in 1951. Still is a great sounding little guitar. Jody.
