| I am new to the b-6th. I have a knee that lowers the second string from d# to c#. Is there any reason that change couldn,t go on the e to e flat lever,it seems there is no use to having two e flats.Thanks Gary |

| i don't know how to explain this is in music, but the reason for the 2nd string lower is that you have the same thing that you would with the first string tuned to a D note on a 10 string c6th and the 1st string f# is the same as the g note on a 10 string c6th.....thanks jack |

It is commonly put on the E-Eb lever because it gives you the equivalent of a D string on a C6th neck.
This way you have D and G... C# and F# on B6th.
I don't like it on my E-Eb lever because it can trip me up in E9th Mode. 
I just backed off my hex tuner on this, I also thought it made the pull a little stiffer.
I also backed off the 2nd string half stop to C# because it made my B to D pull kind of jerky.
You might use that lever for something better or more useful.

Reese had me put the change D# to C# on the E to Eb lever - I like having the ninth on the B6 side of the tuning. He also suggested tuning the low B to C# - I did it, and I love it! In the B6 tuning, it makes for a great 11th chord on strings 7, 8, 9, and 12, which can be easily moved to a 9th with pedal 5 (4 for me....)

Hi Gary, I tune my second string to a C#, with a lever raise to bring it up to D# when needed. As stated above, you have the two high notes needed for any course you want to use to learn from. Also, the C# will not sound as bad if you hit it by mistake compared to the D#. When playing the 6th tuning, C#is the ninth tone, and when playing the 9th tuning, C# will be the 6th tone.
Ken, I've often thought I should have moved the boo wah over to the 4th pedal and wished I had now. Your tuning looks reall good, except I like both E changes on my right knee so I can move around for the C6 pedals easier with my left foot. Larry

Me too, for all the reasons Larry mentioned. I raise it to D my RKR, which also lowers my 8th string to D, and raise it to D# on my 2 RKLs.

I used the D# to C# lower on my E to Eb lever on my old ShoBud for a good while. When I got my BMI around twenty years ago I added the change but the knee lever was too stiff and wasn't comfortable so I tried tuning my 2nd string to C# and really liked that so I've been doing it ever since. It was really easy to get used to and I have no regrets.
The first person I ever recall doing the second string lower along with the E strings was Buddy Charleton on his D-10. He had the change before Jeff Newman did.......JH in Va.

I have two MSA S-12 U's E9th/B6th, I have that 2nd going down on my right knee lever moving to the right, works good on both guitars, I used to tune my 2nd down to C# and raise it up to Eb & D, that was on a Kline S=12 I had.
