Mike says we may be about a week away to see the final product.
I still may have to do some teaking on the pedals and knee levers for my feel.
Though the body and mechanics might be done.
I told him not to rush and he surely agreed with me as we want the best he can get.
We both are dealing with medical problems so we make a good pair.

Hi Al.
Nice to hear from a former student.
I hope you are doing well and progressing on the steel.
Mike was just starting on my steel when you were taking a few lessons before moving from Florida.
It should be done in a about a week or 2 as Mike has some visits to the V.A. which he needs to take care of first.
Best to you.

I can see the finish coming soon.
One of the last things to be done is adding the vertical knee lever.
We wired up the tone control saturday.
Why a tone control you ask? Well because I play both my acoustic guitar and steel thru my NV112 at gigs so I need to compensate for the extra highs I add to my amp for the guitar.
My guitar also has EQ so I can fine tune them both this way.
The other reason is all my steels have had tone controls. Once you have one and then don't you miss that option.
The body yet needs to be wet sanded and polished.
Give it a new set of strings then I can tune it up and play it.

Great looking guitar - the next time someone asks on the forum how long does it take to build a pedal steel you can answer them - most do not realize the time, patients and materials that go into one.
You can also explain that you did not do it to save money because I am sure you could buy a couple for what you have in this one.
Great job - and BEAUITFUL
