I just wanted to say that Doug Stone will be on GAC Sunday May 8th @ 10:30 PM and 1:30 A.M I'm not sure if that's eastern time or central check your local listing. This thing has already aired a bunch this week. And I'm finally going to get to see it.
I was hired by his producer to play on the show and it was taped live [NO LIPSYNC]. My old p/p sounded good in the room I'm very interested in what it sounds like on t.v.
Doug's a great singer and a good guy and his music is very steel guitar friendly. I even got a couple of solos. Boy that don't happen to often anymore. Thanks for reading.

Mike,

My wife and I watched you with Doug Stone last night. You sounded GREAT! We were really impressed with your playing. If I could only get my push/pull to sound half THAT GOOD! Keep up the great work.

Hey Mike,

You and the ol' P/P sounded super, and you got a lot of "face time".

Where was the show taped? I didn't recognize the venue.

Regards,
Bob

Thanks guys. Face time? ooh there goes the ratings. LOL! The show was taped at a club here in Nashville called The Trap. It's a nice big place on Woodland St. across from the colosiuem.
The show has been aired a bunch already and I just got the schedule off GAC's website last night.
FWIW, I used my p/p guitar, Hilton volume pedal, rv-3, and Nashville 112 amp.
Thanks again.

Mike

Classic Emmons push/pull sound. It turned my head when I was eating. I had to smile when I saw it was Mike Sweeney. Intense concentration and great playing.

Thanks Kevin. Intense? Well, let's just say I wanted to do the very best job I could. Old Black Betty was in fine voice I'll admit to that. I can truly say that this guitar gets across what I'm wanting to say better than any other I've ever had.

Chuck, I'm not sure it will be aired again. You can check the GAC web site and see if there is any info.

Craig, thanks a lot! I thought Doug sounded good too.

All I can say is that the production
both video and audio was great coming
into satelite at home.
I wish the people at the Opry would
do as good a job.
I heard Doug do "Only You" on the radio
last week, it had some great steel in it.
I'll find it on Napster, I'm sure.

Yeah Charlie, Alot of cable companies around the country don't carry it either. It's a shame because from what I've seen of it, it's alot better than CMT. The program we did puts me in mind of the old TNN series "New Country" that was taped live at The Cannery off of 8th Ave. south.
One thing I noticed that was funny. In some shots you could see through the darkened windows facing Woodland Street and see the car headlights going up and down the road. LOL! It does put off a cool effect though come to think of it.

Mike,

I caught the show the other night and the push-pull did sound good. Of course, I think your hands had something to do with it too. I don't watch much of the so called New Country anymore, but it was refreshing to hear you and Doug Stone doing real music and playing steel with tone and touch the way it should be.

I did a showcase at The Trap a couple of years ago with Con Hunley it was a nice place to work.

Thanks Herby. I try really hard to sound good. The Trap is a nice place. If and when anyone's in town check it out. They have alot of BIG acts in there.

I was just telling my wife on the way into work this morning about Doug Stone's show I saw on TV one evening this past week and how good everything sounded, including Doug. I forgot what an outstanding singer he is and the band was great too. I could watch that type of music program every week and never get tire of it.

Hello Mike,
Caught your show at Norwalk, CT last year. You are a great player. We don't get the Great American Country here... If, by chance Country Music Television picks this show up, let me know, I'd like to see it. I always liked Doug Stone. I have your "Bandstand" CD in my CD player a lot of the time. Larry J.

Thanks Larry. I don't think it will ever be on CMT. They are the compitition for GAC. It was a good show. And not because I was a small part of it either. Doug's a great singer.
